The 2nd type of people always wastes money on tasks that they can do themselves. So, it is always better to do basic repair work yourself. Not only it saves you money, but also allows you to be self-sufficient in your home maintenance. Thus, you don’t have to wait for the expert for every task. So, let us see what are some basic tasks that you can do.
Unclog a drain
One of the basic work that you can do is unclog a drain. You just need a plunger or similar thing and basic know-how of unclogging. Thus, your home water flow will be free.
Inspect your roof
Over time, cracks develop in our roof. If you spot them at the start, it becomes very easy to fill them. So, it is crucial to inspect your roof timely and fill them to ease the job.
Fix a leaky faucet
Most people think that fixing a leaking faucet is a hard thing. However, there is no difficulty in doing so. You only have to turn off the water, replace the leaking handle, and turn on the supply. Hurrah! The work is done.
Check leaking flush
The leaking flush in your toilet leaks your money. Most people waste money through a leaking flush which increases their water bill. You only have to replace the leaking flapper that is inside the water tank.
You can check if the flush is leaking by putting some color inside it. If the color appears in the toilet after 5-10 mins, it means the flush is leaking. By repairing it, you will save a large sum of money.
Check the fridge door seal
Another way through which we waste money is through the unsealed fridge door. If the fridge door is unsealed, it will leak all the cooling inside causing two issues. Your power bill will increase while the stuff inside may rot if stored for extended periods. The fridge door seals are available from any home items store at a nominal price.
Replace your AC filter
Your AC filters need weekly cleaning, and we know about it. What most of us don’t know is that these filters need to be replaced every year at least. If someone in your home is allergic, you must replace these filters every 2-3 months. A new filter only costs few bucks but increases your AC life as well as improves air quality inside the room.
Trim plants in your home
If there are small plants in your home, it is better to trim them yourself. It requires a little effort and is a fun task to do. No gardener can do it with the same passion and love that you have for your plants.
